Earlier this year I took my first leap into interior design/ decorating. With the help from my best friend and design student, Brian Gipson, I was able to complete a pretty big project in just two days! We were hired by a fellow creative in Atlanta, GA. to completely revamp her home into the ultimate Airbnb experience.
The home was built in the early 2000's and needed a lot of updates. It was white inside and boring, yet had a ton of potential.
Since we're based out of Houston completing this project within budget and in the time frame was challenging! Our project included 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath, kitchen, dinning room, and common living area. We handled hardware choices, wall colors, furniture, and decor accents all the way to the light fixtures.
I find myself inspired often when it comes to design. I have a love for modern and minimalistic furniture and decor pieces. Brian and I decided to collaborate on the living area, and bathrooms. He took creative lead on bedroom one, and I took lead on bedroom two along with the kitchen. We both created mood boards to plan out our designs. We shopped at some of our favorite places to purchase home stuff. For us it was all about convenience! We didn't have a bunch of time and that meant we needed to order things that would already be at the house once we arrived in town. Our orders came from a few local shops, Amazon and Wayfair. We shopped at Target, Ikea, Home Goods, and ROSS once we arrived.
